BUDDIES 6" x 14", Oil on linen, a pair of French Foxhounds.
34" x 42" Framed, Oil on Canvas.
This scene depicts a group of foxhounds from the Blue Ridge Hunt, not yet
in full cry but working the line. A very large, visually stunning piece, and
the first of a series of hound paintings I will be doing throughout the year.
FRENCH FOXHOUND QUINTET
I am crazy about hounds. This quintet is a group of French foxhounds from the kennels at Cheverny, France. Longer in
the ears, the jowls, and the roman nose are a few of the distinguishing characteristics of this wonderful breed of hound. The
sketch is in a vignette form where you see the deep mahogany stained linen canvas, the tone chosen to compliment the
tri-color of the hounds and the walnut of the frame. It was also important to make the amber eyes of these five hounds
bright enough so you would see their dignity and character. 22" x 26" exterior size, includes authentic burl walnut veneer
2"wide x 3/4" deep frame.

A Nighttime Raid
Three foxes are raiding a hay loft for dinner. Notice the two behind him to his
left, you can see the underparts of their tails. A light is turned on, startling
the fox and allowing the mouse (he's at the bottom right corner of the
painting) to get away. Framed in a lovely goldish dark brown wooden frame
of contemporary design.
